Futurama is back in business!!!

In what can only be described as a win for karma and the universe in general, The original cast has all been resigned, and 13 All New episodes have been ordered for 2008, on Comedy Central of all places.

Futurama is back!!!

2008 is a long time to wait, but I don't care. Everyone who fell in love with the show in college will all be out and married and whatnot, but we will watch it just the same.

Congrats to Billy West and Matt Groening. Finally some justice is done in the TV world, as DVD sales and the success of Adult Swim shows Fox what people REALLY like.

Now if we could just get Firefly and Sports night back on the air, we'd really be talkin! At least Firefly got the movie.

2 of my favorite TV shows are back now, with Family Guy and Futurama. Yay!!!

also, Sports.

Superman Returns.....again

SPOILER warning!!! Superman saves the day. Hope I didn't ruin anything for you.

This was a good film. I was a fan of the originals as a child, though I can't hardly remember them now. But I found while watching this one, is what I remember the most is the "grandeur" if you will, of the whole story. Superman is the most revered of the Super Heros. Both in real life, and in the world which he inhabits.

There is this profound feeling about the film, because of the history of the first films, even if you never picked up a Superman comic. Superman is an American icon, and maybe a world wide icon. I dont know, I dont live world wide.

Either way, this felt like an important film, even if it was just the music telling me to feel like it's all very Grand, and even though it has Kate Bosworth in it. Hell, even Ashton Kutcher managed one good movie.

The good:

-Brandon Rouths' portrayal of Superman is good, but his Clark Kent is better; He brings off the nerdy clumsy thing quite well. Very well done. He has few lines, but thats not what Superman is about.

-Kate Bosworth looks better as a brunette than a blond. Kudos.

-Kevin Spacey is deliciously evil as Lex Luthor. Take that "Smallville!!"

-The VFX are awesome of course, a plane in the middle of a baseball field?? Thank you for making baseball interesting again Mr. Singer.

-The script has very few, if any cheeseball moments/lines. Unlike Episodes I-III, and X3. oh and Spiderman, but those aren't really that bad.

-Just an all around good summer film.

The bad:

-The film seems to linger sometimes, as if in love with itself. The flying, and more flying, and he twists around and spins, etc... This film is very very visual, with Supermans' lines sometimes few and far between.

-The main conflict with Luthor, almost feels like a sub plot sometimes. The film is relationship heavy (hence the good reviews) but almost to the point where its chick flicky in a couple of places.

-Cheesy religious symbols. Flying with his arms straight out (crucifixion-like), all the Saviour, Son, Father talk. There were probably more. Actually it's funny; he gets his power from the Sun, which is more Pagan as opposed to any of the afore-mentioned Christian symbols. Anyway....

-James Marsden (Cyclops from X-men movies) can't act here, or in the Xmen series. Sorry dude, you're kind of flailing around up there.

-It's always the kryptonite thing. I know, Supreman, krypton....it's so predictable. But it is, what it is I guess.

Wimbledon threatens crackdown on cleavage

Those Crazy British. Pretending to be all up on their high horse and classy.

Maybe everyone likes Tennis there(in England) , but I can tell you right now in the United States, if you want people to watch Tennis on TV, there is one major attraction. The girls.

"That Steffi Graff has a nice tushy" - Jack Gellar "Friends"

Come on guys, you know the only reason you know the word Sharapova is because she's hot and you wonder which Russian hockey player she'll end up with. Wouldn't Alexander Ovechkin have everything then? What a Jerk.

That's it. Thats how much Sports there is right now. Go...uhh...

Well Im definetley not rooting for England in the World Cup anymore .lol. naa kidding. How about anyone but Brazil. Why should they be so good at Futbol??

Sour grapes....idiocy in Orlando

Here, check out what the this dumbass in Orlando has to say about the Mavs in '07.

"Tim Povtak"

Tough times ahead for Dallas

Published June 25, 2006

Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks would like to believe this was just
a preview of things to come -- that they knocked on the door to a championship,
and they will kick it down in 2007 -- but they sadly are mistaken.

Their only real shot to win an NBA title was lost last week.

The Mavs -- not the Heat -- were the one-year wonders.

When they fell asleep in the fourth quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Finals in
Miami, blowing a 13-point lead and the chance to build a 3-0 series lead, they
never totally woke up again. They will be remembered as the team that spent too
much time worrying about the officiating, and too little time driving hard to
the basket. They are considerably younger than the Heat, but their foundation
isn't strong enough yet to last.

Their fame will be fleeting. They have only one real all-star in Dirk
Nowitzki -- and it usually takes two to dance an NBA title. The Phoenix Suns,
when Amare Stoudemire returns healthy to rejoin Steve Nash next season, won't
let them pass again. Neither will the San Antonio Spurs, who fell to the Mavs
only because Tim Duncan was struggling with a foot problem, leaving Tony Parker
to carry too heavy a load.

If Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady are healthy together in Houston, the Mavs
might be only the third-best team in the state of Texas next season.

Mavs guard Jason Terry, a free agent this summer, got a taste of real glory
during the playoff run, and he wants to be paid handsomely, either in Dallas or
elsewhere this summer. That will cause a problem. Josh Howard doesn't always get
the big picture, either. Their center combination of Erick Dampier and DeSagana
Diop is too much of an offensive liability to overcome in the future. The Mavs
had a wonderful run this season.

They should bask in their success as an NBA finalist. They overachieved,
but they will fade much like the New Jersey Nets did when they reached this
point in back-to-back seasons (2002, '03), then dropped into the pack of the
Eastern Conference.

Congratulations to the Mavs, but this is as far as you get.

You idiot. Tim Duncans foot problem????? Did you watch any of those games???

Houston next year??? Ming and Francis. Mavs the 3rd best team in TX???

What is this guy smoking?

This one is my favorite

Phantom foul #5.

Wade just barrells into Dirk, as Dirk tries to move out of the way. Throws his arm in to Dirk. And they call a foul.

Get some popcorn, you could watch this one all night.

NBA refs. You suck

Goodbye Niko. Stars offseason underway with Draft.

The Stars have dealt Niko Kapanen to the Thrashers for D-man Modry, and some center guy. Atlanta is trying to free up some cap space, meaning the Stars actually are getting good value on the trade.

This also means with Modry coming, the Stars will likely not resign Willie Mitchell. Not a big loss, he's a nice player, but didn't provide anything in the playoffs.

It was just fun to yell things related to "playing with your willie" at the games.

I rather liked Niko Kappanen, we like our Fins. Good luck in Atlanta man.

Still no word on Arnott or Morrow yet.... :-/

Duck Season...Rabbit Season...Duck Season...

The 2006-07 season will bring new uniforms and a new name for Anaheim. They've dropped the "mighty" and they dropped the (put your pinkie up in the air) purple. But I think....

These are pretty gross. Although the old pastel standbys' of the Ducks didn't really inspire confidence either.

Webbed feet for the D huh? That's the best you can do, is it?

Summer is here at last. Go Away Summer.

No, the U.S. isn''t playing here. They're playing at a dumpy stadium down the road. I just thought it was a neat picture.

And so it comes to this. Let's see what we have for interesting sports stories, shall we?

- U.S. takes on Ghana at 9am today, a must win. Also Italy must beat Czech.... if they were better, the American team wouldn't need other peoples help.

- Roger Clemens returns tonight?

-The Rangers might get swept by the Padres??

- WNBA???? lol

I'd like to thank the Mavericks, for getting us this far into the summer. I'd take June 20th action from the Stars or the Mavs any day.

But the Sports drought has begun freinds. It is mighty scary out there. Turn on ESPN at your own risk.

As I'm watching the 1st half of game 6...

I can't help but feel the need to reflect on this great season by the Mavericks, as we bid them a fond farewell.

Dirk Nowitzki - Dude, you are the man, but you still have some growing up to do in your head. Your physical skills are far above your mental toughness, as shown in the Finals. We look forward to seeing you grow even further next year, and get some more MVP votes. Good stuff you big German

Josh Howard - If this club had you healthy all year, you would've been even better, and the Mavs would've had home court vs the Spurs. Youre that good, when you want to be. Like Dirk, you've gotta work on your clutchness. Maybe thats something you can't work on. I don't know. Love you, man.

Jason Terry - I hope Cuban brings this guy back for as long as he would like to stay. Say what you want about a Steve Nash replacement. That move is justified now as at least the Mavs get a Western Conference Champion banner to hang up. JET is clutch, and clutch is everything in life, no matter what happened in the Finals.

Avery Johnson - Exceeded all expectations, and the Coach of the Year is well deserved. Without Avery, this team doesn't get anywhere close to the Finals. As long as Avery keeps his cool, doesn't stress himself out too much, he'll be succesful for some time.

DeSagana Diop - What a find by Donnie Nelson. This guy needs to add just a little tiny bit of offense to his game, and he's going to be a nice player for years to come.

Devin Harris - So much placed on a young mans shoulders who wasn't ready for it, and he did really well. No one can guard Wade, that's certain. So don't feel bad dude. You owned Tony Parker, and thats what matters to me! Avery will have this young man playing better and better all the time.

Daniels - You need to trust yourself dude. Good minutes in the Finals.

Damp - Still not worth the money, but he sure shut down Shaq very well. Too bad they have Wade.

Stack - Love that hard foul. They never would've gotten this far (especially vs San Antonio) without you. Remember to share the ball, and stick around in Dallas. We can do some things around here, if you hadn't noticed.

KVH - Yeah I don't know about your time here. What I do know about, is that it's over. Sorry dawg.

Griffin & Armstrong - I'm sorry we couldn't get you one guys. You carried this team on your back sometimes. God love ya.

To all the Mavericks - it was a wonderful season, and certainly a little unexpected. Even though no one will admit it. New coach, new defensive schemes, totally new system, and you made it all the way to the Finals. That's a fine job, and one that the Dallas Stars could learn a little something from.

Congratulations to Dwyane Wade. He could not have done it, without himself.

Dwyane Wade - Your 2006 NBA Finals Champion(s)

That's what it's all about...

Congrats Guys. Good stuff....

You watching this Dallas? Stars? Mavericks even?

Fortune favors the bold.

This is it. The last stand. The mavs must be bold. They must be aggressive.

Will the Mavs let their anger get the better of them, and embarass themselves for all of posterity, as one of the great Finals chokes?

Maybe.

Maybe they come out and kick ass.

I don't know. Im so emotionally drained from this playoff run. Living and dying everynight with the Mavs.

Let's put it this way. The Mavs hav NOT won a ball game in more than a week. Can you win a title and go a whole week without winning a game?

Maybe.

Can anyone overcome the Dwyane Wade show????

Maybe.

Tomorrow is a big maybe.

GO MAVS. Youre so close. Dont let it slip away.

Game 5. Judgement Day.

So here we are . If you had told a Mavericks fan a few months ago you'd be 2-2 in the NBA Finals and playing a baskebtall game on June 18th, they would have been absolutely thrilled. I know I would've been.

But it feels terrible now that we're actually here. Stack can't play. The Mavs had the lowest scoring quarter in a Finals game ever. And from all their interviews it seems they are much too focused on the 1st quarter of game 5. For example....

"It's going to be intense from here on in," guard Jason Terry said Thursday night following a 98-74 loss. "I mean, you've got to expect it. That big prize at stake. We've got to focus in on the opportunity and the task at hand. The only thing on our mind right now is executing in the first quarter of Game 5."

But what happens if the 1st quarter goes badly? Will they stall emotionally, having been preparing for a good 1st quarter to start the game? I think it's foolish to tell your team that one particular thing in the beginning of the game of all things, has to go well. I think Avery might be setting them up for an emotional letdown that could cripple them the rest of the way.

In 10 hours, we will know...

Get your game face on. I think this is a must win tonight.

GO MAVERICKS!!!

Friday, June 16, 2006

Here you go Dallas

You'll need this. The Mavericks ruined summer.

Wow was I right.

If youuuuu'll notice, I posted 2 hours before the game was over.

And I hit the nail on the head.

Anyway. Dirk, Avery, Stack, Jet. You suck

Thursday, June 15, 2006

Mavs look bored. They look ready to be done.

Hell, they could be done now....

kneejerk

kneejerk

kneejerk

I guess they think theyre all young and they can get back here again. Maybe they can, but I doubt it. Phoenix is only going to get better and San Antonio isn't going anywhere. All they have to do is take the ball to the hoop. Their offensive execution is what is killing them.

Doesn't Avery tell them?? Missed jump shots = long rebounds = fast break for Miami = Wade dominance. It's right there for them to see. It was on the film of game 3. Didn't they watch it? We're watching a freaking game 3 repeat here. It's weird how they talk about the defense dictating the offense, but here the bad offense is ruining them on defense because Miami never has to inbound the ball.

That's the story of what's going on here. It's incredible the way Miami is turning this whole series in their favor; they're just letting the Mavericks do it for them.

The Mavericks do not deserve to be world champions playing like this, and I hope that they don't win it with this half assed play. Serves them right. Dirk isn't a superstar after all....He's got 3 more chances to show us.

If he showed nothing in 4, what makes anyone think 3 will be enough....

Thanks Dirk. Its like Xmas morning with no presents. And a whole year to wait for something more.

Avery this is your fault.

Its so f'ing ridiculous to say.....but Nellie ball would beat this team. The Suns can't believe they're not here. The offense is the problem.

lol.... Stage is too big for the little itty bitty Mavericks?

The hell with all you "I believe" folks. Dont believe anything. Believe what you see. Wade > Mavericks

Heat are on their way.... they deserve it.

Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Ok, tears drying....

Having the whole day to grieve is good. Dirk and Jet and Stack don't have the same luxory as we do, but still. A whole day is good.

Tomorrow we get the confidence flowing again.

Mavs need to take at least 1 in Miami right????

Why not game 4?

The Mavs are 2-1 in game 4's this post season. Obviously game 4 agains the Suns was not a good night.

By THE WAY. Kudos to Erick Dampier. The guy has been playing out of his mind. Diop carried this position through the playoffs to where it is now, and Damp is doing Diops performace on Duncan justice in the finals.

The reason I mention the center position??

BECAUSE AT LEAST I KNOW THEY WONT TAKE SOME STUPID JUMP SHOT.

This means you Jet, Stack, KVH.

Come on Avery, tell them the way it needs to be.....

GO MAVS GO MAVS GO MAVS GO MAVS GO MAVS

Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Well...

It is the NBA finals. It's not supposed to be that easy.

It isn't.

Maybe a loss will give the Mavs a little kick in the rear. They say a series doesn't really start until someone wins on the road.

Then again they've given Miami all kinds of confidence so.... stupid Mavs.

Stupid Stupid Stupid.

I love Stack, but man that guy kept jacking up those misses in the 4th.

I hope it doesn't come back to bite you Dallas. It's amazing how Dirk can have a crappy game like that and still score so many points. Then again it's amazing how many points Dirk can get and still have such a crappy game. No one who scores 30 should be accused of letting your team down, but he did. Where is super star Dirk?

I said Dallas in 6. So, I guess they had to lose one at some point eh?....

Monday, June 12, 2006

Up 2-0. Life is sweep...I mean Sweet.

No I'm kidding. The sweep is not coming. Mavs win 99-85

Although winning by 10 and then by 14 certainly comes with certain questions. But now tonights big story....

Shaq scores 5 points. 5??? on 5 field goal attempts. And the free throw shooting continues to be comical. If you're the Mavericks things cold not possibly be going any better. This means of course that the unthinkable has happened...

A team has figured how to stop Shaq in the post season. That's right. Chew on that. Avery owns you Miami.

- Dirk bounced back pretty well tonight with 26 and 16 boards. Good stuff. Solid consistency from the big German in the playoffs, can't ask for anymore.

-D Wade gets out-scored by another Maverick player. The guys is over rated. He misses layups, he comits aweful turnovers, and his free throws are sometimes shotty. Not tonight, but still....

-Shaq. LOL.

-Haslem left the game hurt after a big fall. Probably no big deal but we'll see.

-Josh Howard was holding his fingers and grimacing in pain in the 4th quarter. This really really concerns me.

That's it really. The Heat have no depth. And their best threat in the paint was not effective at all tonight.

After game 1 I said that no one can beat the Mavs with 80 points. Gues s what Miami, 85 isn't enough either. I fully expect Miami to come out shooting a very high percentage on Tuesday night.

No big deal. Mavs take 1 out of 3 in Miami and come back and close this thing out in 6. And we all rejoice.

MAVS MAVS MAVS MAVS MAVS MAVS MAVS MAVS MAVS....

btw my internet was down. Trying to post more often now...

Look at our boys in the spotlight...

It's like the freaking Super bowl around here. Media day out at the AAC produced some funny moments from Dirk, Shaq and everybody else. It's nice to see the Mavs finally get the attention that they deserve.

It makes me a little nervous though. The mavs are used to being ignored.

We are all so proud of them having come this far. Keep going guys.

We finally get it on tomorrow at 8pm on ABC.

G-O M-A-V-S

Best in the West. Mavs take game 6.

"Dirk I'm so sorry, you should've been the MVP...."

Mavs win 102-93

The Mavericks are sooo good. It's hard for me to say that, being a serial pessimist. But man, any team that can take the kind of beating the Suns started to give them and then just say, "well I think we're going to play some shut-down defense now, and just go ahead and win the game after that, if thats ok with you?" is a team that is just soooo good.

And so now we can write in the Suns yearbook, "Hope you have a cool summer, see ya next year."

Reasons why the Mavs take it in 6:

-Dirk, Germany, Rhineland, der fuhrer, stop me if I get carried away....

-Josh Howard continues to be a quiet dominating presence. I dont know how you can be quiet and dominating at the same time, but man he does it.

-Tim Thomas is a spare

-The Suns played 20 playoff games, and all that "tired" talk turned out to be right, Nash was making bonehead decisions and trying to chase the Jet all over the floor.

-Diops' defensive presence and rebounding was HUGE. So was Griff.

-Stackhouse finally came out and did more good than bad. Love you Stack.

-k. Van Horn played 4 minutes. Good job Avery.

-Avery Johnson is a genius. These guys really listen to him. He is responsible for all of this.

Go Mavs. Beat Miami. Mavs in 6?

Thursday, June 01, 2006

Game 5: Eye for an Eye...

50 for the Big German. Mavs win 117-101. Suns run home with their tails between their legs...

The Suns punched the Mavs in the face in game 4.

The Mavs punched back.

I'm sorry for bashing Dirk. Rather he made me sorry . What a performance. Recently a certain old man on the radio has declared Josh Howard, Dirk, and Devin Harris the "New Big Three," But I think maybe you put Diop in there and slow down on Harris. Great stuff from Diop tonight.

Mavs need to bring it in, calm down, and focus on game 6. If the Pistons get a big win on the road, it would be awesome to give yourself an extra day off.

Game 5 notes...

-J Ho is the man. 24-0 when he scores 20+

-Dirk

-Jet came out ok in the first half, would like a little more from him.

-Tim Thomas made some nice shots tonight. But take those away, which usually happens, and this Suns team was hurting bad tonight.

-Dirk

-Craig Sager wore an even uglier jacket tonight than he did on tuesday. TNT, you're so awesome....

-TNT is predicting game 7 in Dallas. ERRRRR>>>>......

-Steve Nash looked dashing in his pink polo at the post game press conf.

-Dirk

-Adrian Griffin is under rated.

-Dirk

Marion Pre Game Ritual....hey now!

"oh hell yeah baby, loosen it up for Big Dirk..."
